In Billy Elliot we get to see how Billy is afraid of his father’s reaction if he finds out that he likes to dance ballet. That happens because for years and years, ballet has been deemed as a feminine art.

In Billy Elliot, the context of the story places us in the years 1984-85, during the coal-miners’ strike. In order to understand the movie better, please do a research on the UK MINERS’ STRIKE of the years 1984-85. The causes, effects, consequences, history, or any other important information that you can find. Please cite all of your sources. Make your report at least 200 words long for full marks.

Boxing/Dancing! Billy Elliot had a strong dilemma: should he obey his dad and practice boxing or should he follow his dreams and dance ballet? Whatever the situation, Billy needed two different outfits! Your task is to show me Billy on his boxing costume and on his ballet costume! t can be a drawing, a graphic, a sculpture, a photograph, or any other mean of art that you can think of! You can also use a doll maker program and create your own doll, just remember that I need to see both of Billy costumes. Be creative! CREATIVE WRITING (30 points)
Letter to Dad! Imagine that you are Billy Elliot and you have finally decided to tell your father about your dreams to become a ballet dancer. You fear his reaction, but you can’t hide it anymore, so you feel that the best way is to tell him through a letter. Write the letter to your dad, explaining your feelings and motifs of why you love ballet so much and how much you expect and want his support. Make your letter at least 300 words long for full points.
